Optical Boxes

FOLAN optical boxes allow the connection of cables for distribution to other cables or active equipment. They do not require the use of a rack and can be attached to a wall, DIN rail or pole. Like the drawers, the optical cabinets can be equipped with connectors, pigtails, coiling zones or splicing cassettes. There are 4 key points to consider when choosing an optical cabinet.

  • Connectivity used
  • The number of connections desired
  • The number of splices to be made
  • The presence of a protection module for optical cords (or garters)

Optical Boxes
OTO - OITD
Optical Telecommunication Outlet
OTO (Optical Telecommunication Outlet) or OITD (Optical Indoor Termination Device) represent the FTTH network's termination point. These are boxes with an optical socket to which the customer connects a subscriber patchcord. Small, unobtrusive and easy to install in the subscriber's home.... read more
QINA box
QINA boxes are our slim connection box solution and are suitable for all installation configurations. Connection by pigtailing is available via the FOLAN 12-splice splicing tray, as is direct connection via the protected adapter support plate housed in an extremely compact compartment that can be secured by padlock.... read more
FIDJI boxes
FIDJI boxes are available in two formats, a 12 model designed to manage and protect up to 24 splices in two splicing trays, the other being the 24 model with a maximum capacity of 48 splices in four splicing trays (LC format). FIDJI boxes are extremely compact and can be secured by padlock; they are designed to take different adapter plates so that they can be tailored to accommodate all your configurations. The coiling area or areas ensure that the optical fiber bending radius are not exceeded and the FOLAN swing open splicing trays provide easy, unfettered access to the splices and effective protection.... read more
KYOTO box
Despite their compact size, KYOTO boxes can manage up to 96 connections with LC connectors, 48 with SC, SCD or ST connectors, or 72 splices in a secure compartment with key locking. With their swing open splicing trays, KYOTO boxes are easy and comfortable to use. They can simultaneously handle dispatching, branching and tapping and provide continuous tube management of all fiber and cable types. ... read more
PANAMA COMPACT box
To optimize FTTA antenna connection, FOLAN have developed the PANAMA COMPACT box to make it easier to connect base stations/main units together and simplify fiber distribution to the RRUs/RRHs. PANAMA COMPACT boxes have one PG16 cable gland entry point and 2xM25 cable gland outlets with (5 to 7mm diameter) multi-hole rings.... read more
PANAMA box
PANAMA boxes are very easy to use and come with one cable entry point and up to 4 outlets. The connections are easily made using direct connectorization via a tray that can accommodate up to 24 fibers (12 LC-duplex adapters). If necessary, PANAMA boxes can also manage splices by incorporating one or two 12 OF swing open splicing trays.... read more
PANAMA HYBRID box
To optimize antenna connection infrastructures, FOLAN has developed the PANAMA HYBRID 02 range of boxes. These are especially compact and light and not only provide the optical connection between the RRU (Remote Radio Unit) and the main unit (distribution cabinet), but also the power supply to the RRU by having completely separate optical fiber and power cable management areas. The power section houses the circuit breakers and the electrical terminal blocks.... read more
PANAMA COILING box
Environmental constraints may make it necessary to provide protected cable overlength management on certain installations. The PANAMA range includes a COILING box for this purpose whereby the bottom entry point is modified to accommodate cable loops. The cable is coiled around D-shaped guides to ensure that the minimum bending radius is observed and is held in place with cable ties.... read more
