An SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable), also known as a mini GBIC, is a compact module that plugs into active equipment such as media converters, switches, or routers to connect to optical fiber. This module converts an electrical signal into an optical signal, ensuring fast and reliable data transmission.
FOLAN’s new SFPs: Solutions for every need
FOLAN offers various SFP versions to meet diverse network infrastructure requirements. Here are the main types available and their specifications:
Standard version:
SFP 1000SX: Operates at a wavelength of 850 nm with LC Duplex connectivity. Ideal for short distances up to 500 meters.
SFP 100FX: Operates at a wavelength of 1310 nm with LC Duplex connectivity. Designed for distances up to 2 km.
Bidirectional version:
SFP 1000BX: Utilizes a wavelength of 1310 nm for transmission (TX) and 1550 nm for reception (RX), or vice versa. LC connector with a range of 20 km. This type allows transmission over a single fiber using different wavelengths for sending and receiving.
