Juliane PERRIN (QSE and CSR engineer at FOLAN) explains in video the voluntary commitment of FOLAN in this international initiative on sustainable development
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is part of FOLAN’s corporate culture. FOLAN has been awarded the Ecovadis Gold Medal for 6 years and has also been a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact since 2012. This is a commitment to respect and promote? in our activities and our sphere of influence? the ten major principles relating to human rights, labour law, the environment and the fight against corruption. Every year, we publish a progress report to visualise our progress in CSR and to show that FOLAN is a committed actor of change.
Out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals promoted by the United Nations, FOLAN works mainly on 6 priority areas: good health and well-being, industry/innovation/infrastructure, sustainable city and community, decent work and economic growth, reduced inequality, responsible consumption and production, measures to combat climate change.
On the one hand, from an environmental point of view, we have worked on product packaging to reduce the use of plastic in favour of cardboard, which makes it easier to recycle. In addition, we have optimised the organisation of pallets, saving 25% of space on the same pallet. We have also renewed our car fleet with hybrid vehicles and closed our gas contract to promote the installation of an additional heat pump in our Lyon premises. Furthermore, FOLAN pays particular attention to the company’s values, which are respect for commitments and professionalism, proactivity and reactivity, team spirit and benevolence. These are just a few examples of our long-term commitment to CSR.
